Hyaluronic acid fillers
Due to the natural aging process, our skin loses elasticity and firmness over time, its volume decreases and wrinkles may appear. The reason for this is that, from about the age of 25, collagen production slows down and the body's own hyaluronic acid breaks down. Fortunately, there are aesthetic procedures that can be used to replenish what the skin is lacking and regain an attractive, youthful appearance.
One of the most important substances in aesthetic medicine is hyaluronic acid. It is a substance that is a natural part of our body. It is found mainly in the skin, but also in tendons, joints, muscles or the vitreous of the eye as part of the intercellular mass. It is responsible for water retention, i.e. hydration of the tissue. If the body has enough hyaluronic acid, the skin looks fresh, juicy, elastic, firm and resistant to wrinkles. On the other hand, when there is not enough hyaluronic acid in the skin, the skin breaks, wrinkles form and the volume of the tissue decreases.
Therefore, in aesthetic medicine, we try to maintain a sufficient amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin using various techniques to smooth out wrinkles, replenish lost tissue volume and create aesthetically balanced contours, especially on the face, using fillers.
Depending on the indication of the treatment, we use different types of hyaluronic acid. For superficial fine wrinkles we use thin preparations, for deeper wrinkles and volume replenishment we use thicker hyaluronic acid, always in gel form.
It is fascinating what effects can be achieved with hyaluronic acid. However, to achieve the optimal effect, it is a good idea to entrust yourself to an experienced doctor who knows the anatomy of the face and know which type of hyaluronic acid to apply, in what quantity and with what protocol. This will avoid potential complications arising from incorrect application of hyaluronic acid.
The effect of hyaluronic acid
There are many possible uses for hyaluronic acid. It depends on the effect we want to achieve. It can be:

The most common areas of application of hyaluronic acid
Nasolabial groove
As we age, we very often develop prominent wrinkles running on both sides from the nose down to the mouth. These are called nasolabial or nasolabial folds. One option for reducing or smoothing these wrinkles is hyaluronic acid fillers.
Wrinkles around the lips
Fine vertical lines around the lips are usually referred to as perioral or also smoking lines, although they sometimes have nothing to do with smoking. The hyaluronic acid injected into the area around the lips can draw water into the skin, hydrating the skin, making the skin plump up beautifully and the wrinkles disappear.
Lip augmentation
With the help of hyaluronic acid, we can give your lips a fuller shape. Whether you opt for a gentle lip refresh - refreshing the lip contours, a slight lip augmentation or Hollywood lips, you're sure to be pleased with the results. Read more about lip augmentation.
Wrinkles on the forehead
For forehead wrinkles, a combination of hyaluronic acid and neurotoxin (BTX) is ideal. BTX relaxes the muscles that cause forehead wrinkling, then we use fillers to hydrate and fill in any lingering wrinkles.
Frown lines - wrinkles between the eyebrows
The glabella is the area between the eyebrows and the root of the nose. Glabellar lines, which are vertical facial wrinkles, are one of the most common reasons to visit an aesthetic doctor because they give the face an unpleasant stern or frowning expression. If the glabellar wrinkle is deep, it can be filled with hyaluronic acid. Excellent frown removal effects are achieved by combining hyaluronic acid and BTX application.
Dark circles under the eyes
If you are concerned about sunken eyes and dark circles, hyaluronic acid can again help. We use it to hydrate, balance and rejuvenate the under-eye area. Your surroundings may not notice that you've had a particular aesthetic procedure, but you'll look more refreshed and rejuvenated to them.
Non-surgical rhinoplasty
The volumetric effect of hyaluronic acid can also be used to great effect for minor nose corrections. Slight unevenness, asymmetries or aesthetic imperfections can be improved on an outpatient basis, minimally invasively, without anesthesia or surgery.
Temporal area
During aging, there is a gradual loss of tissue volume. One of the areas usually affected by this process is the area around the temples. A suitable method for filling the temple area is the use of hyaluronic acid.
Postoperative defects
Injuries, burns, surgical procedures or plastic surgery can leave various postoperative defects on the skin that affect its appearance. These defects are aesthetically undesirable and can cause physical and emotional discomfort.
Jaw modelling
The sharp edge of the jawline, prominent chin and sculpted cheekbones are all perceived as rejuvenating and attractive. There are many techniques aimed at jawline modelling, one of which is injectable hyaluronic acid fillers.
Before the hyaluronic acid treatment
There is no special preparation required for hyaluronic acid treatment. However, it is recommended to avoid products with a higher dose of vitamin C for a few days before the application. This will reduce the risk of bruising and swelling. For the same reason, it is advisable not to drink coffee on the day of treatment. Arrive for the treatment without make-up. We do not treat patients with bleeding disorders.
Consultation before hyaluronic acid application
A consultation with your doctor is always an important part of the treatment. During this consultation we will clarify what result you expect and what should be achieved. According to the indication and your wishes, we will choose the appropriate procedure. Some protocols may include multiple steps, so we will plan the overall treatment schedule.
Hyaluronic acid application process
You will rest comfortably on the bed during the application. We will cleanse and disinfect your skin, chart the application if necessary, and then proceed with the actual treatment. Some applications may be slightly uncomfortable or slightly painful. Particularly sensitive areas, such as the perioral area around the lips, can be numbed with a local anaesthetic cream or solution before treatment.
After treatment with hyaluronic acid
The application of hyaluronic acid will not significantly exclude you from your social life. However, you should expect some slight redness or short-term swelling in the injection area. This condition may persist for several hours to days. In exceptional cases, small bruises may appear. However, even these usually disappear within 2 days.
The following recommendations should be observed:
- on the day of application
- unless otherwise advised by your doctor, do not massage the area to be treated and do not touch the injection sites.
- 24 h after application
- do not apply make-up
- 2 weeks after application
- do not schedule cosmetic treatments
- avoid sauna, solarium, steam room and excessive cold
Contraindications
Hyaluronic acid fillers are not performed in pregnant and lactating women, people with bleeding disorders, autoimmune diseases, malignant diseases and polyvalent allergies. If you suffer from acute inflammatory skin disease at the site of the planned application, the treatment should also be postponed.
Price of hyaluronic acid fillers
The price of hyaluronic acid treatments depends on the amount, brand and type of substance applied and the extent of the region treated. It is therefore very individual. You will find out the specific price of your treatment during your consultation. You can also find an idea of the price in our price list.
