Dark circles under the eyes

Why dark circles appear

The skin around the eyes is the thinnest on the whole body, so blood vessels show through it and any shadow is noticeable at once. Add genetics, tiredness, dehydration and allergies, and with age the loss of collagen and fat under the skin — the hollow under the eye deepens and the shadow grows darker.

How we remove dark circles

Using fine injections, we apply a hyaluronic acid filler into the tear trough — a substance the body contains naturally. The filler fills the hollow, the shadow disappears and the eyes look more open. We use certified Restylane and Juvederm products, which contain a local anaesthetic, so the treatment is practically painless.

Besides the shadows, the filler also softens fine wrinkles around the eyes. Slight redness or minor swelling may appear after the treatment and fades within a few days. For the first 24 hours we recommend avoiding strong sun, the sauna and greasy creams.

When the treatment is not enough

If there is more under the eyes than shadows — loose skin and fat bags — a filler will not solve the problem. In that case lower eyelid surgery is the right choice. What is right in your case we will find out at the consultation — it is free of charge and commits you to nothing.

We do not perform the treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an acute skin condition at the injection site, or with an allergy to any component of the product.
