Droopy corners of the mouth
An aesthetically beautiful mouth is characterized by the corners of the lips continuing to flow. So it's heading slightly upwards. If this is not the case, we are talking about droopy corners of the mouth. Droopy corners of the mouth appear as a result of sagging skin during aging. It evokes negative emotions, gives the impression that its wearer is in a bad mood, looks at the world pessimistically or is sad. If this is not the case, there is a mismatch between how we look and how we feel. The task of aesthetic medicine is to create harmony, so we often deal with droopy corners of the mouth with our clients.
How droopy corners of the mouth are formed
The gradual weakening of the circular mouth muscle and the simultaneous aging of the skin, which loses its elasticity and firmness, leads to a loosening of the tissues around the mouth. Insufficiently strong facial structures will allow the corners of the mouth to droop, they will fall and in extreme cases they will also create marionette wrinkles – lines running from the corners of the mouth towards the chin. When combined with other factors such as genetic disposition, insufficient protection from harmful UV rays, an unbalanced diet and insufficient drinking, the rate of skin aging can be accelerated.
Does facial yoga work on droopy corners of the mouth?
Facial yoga is a very trendy topic these days. Its aim is to strengthen individual facial muscles as a way to prevent aging. Unfortunately, it has not yet been scientifically proven that facial yoga helps keep our face firm and young. Therefore, it is necessary to reach for other techniques.
How can droopy corners of the mouth be lifted?
Aesthetic dermatology uses several methods, which are often combined with each other to achieve the maximum possible effect. The choice of treatment method for drooping corners always depends on the exact indication and the quality of the client's skin. The doctor determines it during the consultation, when he has the opportunity to see the initial situation and discuss with the client how she would like to improve the area of the mouth and corners.
One of the methods is the application of dermal fillers containing hyaluronic acid. If we use a thicker HA acid, we strengthen the skin around the mouth and lift the corners to the desired position. By applying hyaluronic acid with a lower density, we can very effectively fill any existing marionette wrinkles or "smoker's" wrinkles around the lips.
Neurotoxin BTX can also raise the corners of the mouth. It will limit the downward movement of the mouth without restricting the movement of the mouth in other directions.
Calcium hydroxyapatite in combination with hyaluronic acid can very effectively lift the tissue around the mouth and thus perform a long-term lifting while simultaneously improving the structure and appearance of the skin.
