Lip correction is one of the most popular procedures in aesthetic medicine. It allows the shape, volume and contour of the lips to be adjusted so that they look fuller, more balanced and yet natural. What is lip correction and who is it suitable for
Lip correction is a minimally invasive procedure in which the doctor applies a filler based on hyaluronic acid directly into the lips or the surrounding area. The goal is not a dramatic enlargement. Often a subtle enhancement of the contour, correction of asymmetry or hydration is enough to optically rejuvenate the lips.
The procedure is suitable for clients who want to:

How lip correction with hyaluronic acid proceeds
Before the procedure a consultation takes place. The doctor evaluates the shape of the lips, the proportions of the face and your expectations. Together you choose the appropriate technique and the amount of material.
The application itself usually takes 15 to 30 minutes. We use a thin needle or cannula. After the procedure mild swelling or a small bruise may appear. These usually subside within a few days. The final result is visible approximately after one week.
The advantage of hyaluronic acid is its safety. It is a substance that occurs naturally in the human body. If necessary the filler can be dissolved with the enzyme hyaluronidase and the shape adjusted.
Lip correction techniques
At Hello Beauty Clinic we offer several approaches according to the desired effect.
Subtle enhancement (so-called lip refresh) gives the lips hydration and gentle fullness without a significant change in size. Contour adjustment enhances the outline of the lips and evens out minor irregularities. Classic lip augmentation adds volume and balances the proportions. The Russian lips technique creates a heart-shaped form with emphasis on height and sharp contours. Hollywood lips, on the other hand, aim for a fuller, softer and more sensual look.
In addition to fillers we also use the lip flip technique. Application of a small dose of BTX relaxes the muscle around the upper lip. The lips turn slightly outward and appear fuller without adding filler material. In addition, fine wrinkles around the mouth (so-called smoker’s lines) are reduced. This method is ideal for a subtler correction.
How long does the result of lip correction last
The effect of a lip filler usually lasts 6 to 12 months. The duration depends on the type of preparation used, the client’s metabolism and the area of application. Lips are among the dynamic areas, so the material is absorbed faster than, for example, in the cheekbone area.
Regular maintenance treatments prolong the result and allow the shape to be gradually refined. After the procedure we recommend avoiding intense sport, sauna and direct sun for several days. Hydration and gentle lip care support a longer-lasting effect.
Q&A: Most frequent questions about lip correction
Does lip correction hurt?
Sometimes yes, but the procedure is well tolerated. Before application we use an anaesthetic cream or solution. Most clients describe only mild pressure or a stinging sensation.
How long does recovery after a lip filler take?
You can resume normal activities practically immediately. Swelling and any small bruises usually disappear within 2–5 days. The final shape of the lips usually settles within one week.
Is it possible to cancel or adjust a lip correction at any time?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid is dissolvable. If the result does not match your expectations, the doctor can adjust the shape or completely return it to the original state.
Is lip correction also suitable for men?
Yes. More and more men seek subtle contour modelling or volume restoration. The approach is individual and the dosing respects male anatomy and a natural appearance.
What is the difference between a lip filler and a lip flip?
A filler adds volume and shape using hyaluronic acid. A lip flip uses BTX for a slight “turning outward” of the lip without adding material. Both methods can be combined for an optimal result.
