Facial plastic surgery

Facial plastic surgery includes rhinoplasty, otoplasty, facelift and eyelid surgery. Natural refinement of the features and an individual approach.

Facial plastic surgery is one of the most sought-after surgical treatments, because the face plays a key role in how we feel and how others see us. We focus on procedures that restore the natural harmony of the features, rejuvenate the appearance and address specific aesthetic or functional concerns — always with an emphasis on a natural, discreet result that respects your individuality.

We perform five main types of facial procedures:

Nose correction – rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is one of the most common and at the same time one of the most demanding facial procedures. The nose is the dominant feature of the middle of the face and its shape strongly affects the overall harmony of the features. The procedure can adjust the size of the nose, change the shape of the tip (narrowing, lifting, shortening), lower or smooth the bridge, narrow wide nostrils or fine-tune the proportions so that the nose looks more natural and balanced against the forehead, eyes, mouth and chin.

The main aim of rhinoplasty is aesthetic — a more harmonious and attractive face. Many patients want above all to remove specific flaws that have bothered them for a long time and to feel more confident when they look in the mirror. Improving breathing is not the primary goal, but if you had problems breathing through your nose before the operation (for example because of a deviated septum, narrowed passages or chronic congestion), the operation can naturally lead to much better breathing through the nose too — a welcome bonus to the aesthetic result.

Otoplasty

Correction of protruding ears – otoplasty

Otoplasty is an operation that corrects the position and shape of the ears. Most often it addresses ears that stick out noticeably, are unusually large, asymmetric or deformed by an injury or from birth.

The procedure brings great emotional relief, especially to children and teenagers who are teased because of protruding ears or avoid situations where their ears would be seen (sport, swimming, short hair). That is why we most often perform it on children from 6–7 years, when the ear cartilage is sufficiently developed. It is just as popular with adults of all ages.

The aim of otoplasty is ears that lie naturally close to the head and suit the face and head without the result looking artificial. The result is permanent — once corrected, the ears stay in their new position for life.

Facelift – rhytidectomy

A facelift is a comprehensive procedure for overall rejuvenation of the face and neck and one of the most effective methods of plastic surgery for more pronounced signs of ageing. It gives the cheeks and neck a more youthful look by removing sagging skin and excess fat pads and tightening the muscle and connective tissue beneath the skin. This restores natural contours — the cheeks are lifted, the jawline becomes sharp again, deep folds disappear and the neck looks smoother and tighter.

We focus on a natural result — no exaggerated “pulled” faces or mask-like expressions typical of older techniques. Instead, the emphasis is on the deeper layers of tissue, a vertical lift and the gentle removal of excess skin, so that once healed the patient looks more rested, fresher and more harmonious without anyone guessing they have had surgery. We perform a facelift with the greatest emphasis on individuality — every case is planned around your anatomy, skin type and degree of ageing.

Upper eyelid surgery

Upper eyelid surgery

Plastic surgery of the upper eyelids (blepharoplasty) removes loose skin, protruding fat pads and sagging tissue of the upper eyelids, which make the face look tired, sad or older. The procedure not only rejuvenates the look and opens up the eyes but often also improves peripheral vision when loose skin restricts the field of view. We perform blepharoplasty with an emphasis on the most natural result possible — the eyes look fresher and more rested without appearing “overdone” or artificial.

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and usually takes 60–90 minutes. The incision follows the natural crease of the eyelid exactly, so the scar is almost invisible once healed. Excess skin and protruding fat are removed, the eyelid is gently lifted and its contour adjusted to suit your individual anatomy. The result is visible immediately, although the full effect shows after 4–6 weeks, when swelling and bruising have gone.

Lower eyelid surgery

Plastic surgery of the lower eyelids (lower blepharoplasty) is a very effective procedure that removes bags under the eyes, loose skin and dark circles and so markedly rejuvenates the whole face. Bags form when fat pads bulge forward, the skin loses elasticity and often for genetic reasons — the result is a tired, older look that can affect younger people too. We perform lower blepharoplasty with an emphasis on a natural result: the eyes look brighter, fresher and more rested without appearing artificial or over-corrected.

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and usually takes 60–90 minutes. The incision runs just below the lashes (or inside the eyelid — a transconjunctival approach with no visible scar), excess fat is removed or repositioned, loose skin is shortened and the contour under the eyes is smoothed. The result is visible straight after the procedure, while swelling and bruising gradually subside over 10–14 days. Most patients return to their usual activities within 7–14 days, make-up can be worn from day 10 and the full effect shows after 4–8 weeks.
