Orange-peel skin and dimples on the chin can be an aesthetic problem. How do you get rid of orange-peel skin and get back a smooth chin?
Before the treatment you will have a consultation with the doctor, who analyses the quality of your skin and the extent and intensity of the orange-peel texture, and proposes a suitable treatment.
The application of the neurotoxin itself is not demanding. With a fine needle, the doctor injects a small amount of the active substance into a predetermined spot. The injection itself does not hurt; it is usually just a small sting that may be a little unpleasant, but it passes quickly.
After the procedure the skin is sometimes slightly red. Within a few minutes, or a few hours at most, there will be no visible trace of the injection.
It is important, however, to follow certain recovery rules:
- for 4 hours after the BTX application, stay upright with your head above shoulder level and do not bend forward
- do not touch the treated area
- do not wear make-up
For 2 weeks after the treatment, avoid extreme temperatures such as saunas, steam rooms or severe frost. It is also a good idea to protect the treated area from UV radiation with a high-SPF cream. If you are considering further aesthetic procedures in the chin area, wait at least 2 weeks after the BTX therapy.
Neurotoxins generally remain effective for about 4 to 9 months. After that, the treatment needs to be repeated.

BTX is a substance produced in nature by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. BTX made synthetically under laboratory conditions is widely used in medicine: in neurology, dermatovenereology and above all in aesthetic medicine.
