We are now significantly expanding our sonography to include a comprehensive examination of the abdominal and thoracic areas. All on a modern, high-resolution device, without ionizing radiation, without a request form and with an immediate explanation of the results directly at the clinic.
Why are we adding additional sonographic examinations
Ultrasound is one of the most natural methods to safely examine internal organs. It will show the size, structure, possible deposits, inflammation, stones or cysts in real time - all without any risk to your health.
Ultrasound is ideal for a quick check when abdominal pain, chronic fatigue, changes in digestion or problems with urination occur. It is also suitable if you want to preventively find out how your organs are doing. Many changes are detected thanks to sonography before they manifest as significant symptoms, which allows for early intervention and often a simpler solution.
Newly available examinations include, for example, an ultrasound of the pleural cavity, which will help to quickly detect any effusion or inflammatory changes in the chest. If you are suffering from breathing difficulties or chest pain, this examination will often bring the first clear answer. We also offer an ultrasound of the kidneys and an ultrasound of the adrenal glands - an ideal combination for checking the urinary system and hormonal organs. Changes in size, stones, cysts or deposits in these areas are very well displayed on ultrasound.
A comprehensive look at the liver and biliary system
We have comprehensive examinations for the liver and biliary system that will help you quickly clarify the cause of your upper abdominal discomfort.
We will start with a liver ultrasound, which is a basic step in checking this largest internal organ. The examination will show the size of the liver, its structure, any fatty changes, deposits, cysts or signs of cirrhosis. It is a very sensitive method for early detection of changes that often only become apparent later - for example, with fatigue or increased liver tests.
If you suspect problems with the gallbladder, an ultrasound of the gallbladder is the next step. This organ often causes pain in the right lower quadrant, especially after a fatty meal. Ultrasound reliably detects gallstones, cholecystitis, thickened bile or polyps on the wall. Many people thus get an explanation for long-term digestive problems during the first examination. For a complete examination, we recommend an ultrasound of the bile ducts, which will assess patency, possible stones or signs of inflammation.
These examinations are especially useful if you are suffering from recurring pain in the right lower rib cage, bloating after meals, nausea, jaundice or increased liver test values. We perform them without ionizing radiation, painlessly and with an immediate explanation - so you leave with a clear answer and, if necessary, a plan for what to do next.
Ultrasound of the spleen, pancreas and bladder
If changes in the upper abdomen are suspected, we perform an ultrasound of the spleen and an ultrasound of the pancreas. An ultrasound of the spleen will reliably show an enlargement of the organ, a mass, cysts or infarctions – often before pain in the left lower abdomen or a feeling of fullness appears. An ultrasound of the pancreas will assess inflammation, cysts, masses or chronic changes that cause pain in the upper abdomen, back or digestive problems.
For problems with the lower abdomen, an ultrasound of the bladder is suitable, which will reveal residual urine, stones, polyps or inflammation – ideal for recurrent infections, burning or a weak urine stream.
Finally, an ultrasound of the abdominal cavity for the presence of fluid will quickly and sensitively reveal ascites, hematoma or other abnormalities – crucial when inflammation, bleeding or more serious conditions are suspected.
